Week of February 19th, 2012 - Video Game-inspired Week
Sunday: Sunday is the exception to this week’s theme. It’s just a guy on a dock taunting a shark. If you can think of a video game this is inspired by, let me know.
Monday: A mage-y character based on Kingdom Hearts, particularly the Agrabah worlds. Based on the body language, though, this may be one of those rare Heartless capable of communication.
Tuesday: The main (but not always starring) character of the King’s Quest series, King Graham, is easily recognizable by his red tunic, peaked cap, and general lack of ornamentation. Last time I did a GIS for him I spent hours reading “Let’s Play” threads, so you’re on your own there.
Wednesday: Jack Marston from Red Dead Redemption in the Mexican Poncho. Well, more or less. Though they don’t appear in the image above, the pants+boots combination, the Macy’s Kimora Bootcut Jeans & Shoes still have an outline around them where the avatar’s feet should be. For shame.
Thursday: An interpretation of Link from the Legend of Zelda: Rather than attemptin’ to emulate any particular game, this is a preppy, foppish Link (rather than the country boy we see in many iterations.) The pants are a little lame, though I don’t think I have anything better. There’s a small space in the Venn diagram overlap of “fits the general color scheme” and “looks preppy/foppish.”
Friday: Mario Mario in a… larger than life sort of look? His hands are huge and his mustache is ridiculous. I went through a lot of Marios before and, well. I had to do something different.
Saturday: Ness, from Earthbound, but as a teen or young-adult. Thing is, after the events of the game- wherein Ness is maybe 13- there’s no idea of what happens. The sequel takes place in a distant future. Let’s hope Ness’s future was happy, at least for a while.
