Week of November 10th, 2013
Sunday: Invisible Car! Haigha’s Madness (Falling Legs) again, and the Smooth Criminal (Jacket); The hair is Oona Silverclan of Stormforge (no beard), with Nolyn Silverchief of Stormforge (no hair), and Henry Hatsworth’s Bowler Hat (Henry Hatsworth’s Gray Mustache) making up the facial hair. The background is simply On The Road.
Monday: I felt like being rainbow-dressed once more, and as such, I put on various rainbow clothes, but I added HfP: C (Cicero’s Discipline) to change the shape of the hair. Still a lazy avatar.
Tuesday: One can only guess that I had a wonderful bath, getting sleep and, perhaps, drinking slightly.
Wednesday: This, on the other hand, has nothing to do with me, but simply is creepy elements stuck together. Antipathy (Wrakk), Ravenwood Manor (decaying into dust) and The Case of Pietro (Detective, Guilty?!)
Thursday was trying out a new beard I got, Evening Toro the Bulltaur (hair). It rather needs Henry Hatsworth’s mustache, just as Sunday’s avatar had. Most of the main outfit is the Jack’s 2k13 Ornate outfit.
Friday: And by contrast, here is a character with Daytime Toro the Bulltaur (hair) up a tree, rescuing a cute creature. I’m not sure how he has a facial expression. That’s usually prevented by the beard in use.
Saturday: My interpretive version of Steam Powered Giraffe’s song Wired Wrong. The featured character is The Spine.
Week of November 3rd, 2013 - V for Various. My versions of V vary only vaguely by vintage, but I rarely vacillate between video and verbal versions.
By which I mean, most of my references are from the movie.
Sunday: V as portrayed on Gordon’s programme - a slightly inept comedic villain. Hair is the Midnight Dark Mistress Wig, face is Inari’s Beads (kitsuneme,) with Wild West Villain’s Stache and Sharaku Nose (Superior Form) (Platinum). Oh, and the grin comes from Haigha’s Madness (Grin)
Monday: Cooking type V. Same face style as last year’s Standard-type V, but using the Gogh Reed (Thunder Skin) to suggest burned hands. Not much to note beyond that.
Tuesday: Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologise for this interruption… The legs for this otherwise mostly unremarkable avatar are Haigha’s Madness (falling legs.) This avatar is more conceptual and less representative, because “meh.”
Wednesday: In the film, V disguises himself as a “William Rookwood”- an enigmatic but knowledgeable character from the history of Larkhill. This is an attempt at that disguise.
Thursday: V gets shot a lot of times near the end of the movie. Ergo.
Friday: Okay, done with V for now. On to an avatar with interesting layering tricks! The Enchanted Book (Black underskirt) is the lowest skirt layer. Over that is the Queen’s Vengeance (Bustier with hoopskirt), which as I mentioned previously, has this unfortunate cage that needs to be covered up. This feat was succesfully achieved with the Jack’s 2k13 Ornate Skull Bustle. I’m not sure why I added Antipathy (Prisoner’s Body) or the Brown Nosey Face Tattoo, which give the avatar a bit of a furry style, but I do know where the red hair came from: Last Week's New-Age Retro Hippy avatar, which had a hairstyle change attached to it. A decent substitute, if you want an avatar you can take *all* the way off, is Secret Retreat (Hair de mort).
Saturday: And this avatar is… honestly it’s clearly a self-portrait, even without a beard, but why the creepy? And why the orange juice? Especially with Saturday avatars, sometimes I think I’m just trolling my future self.
Week of October 13th, 2013 - Avatar costumecenption
I’m not sure for most of these, which character aspect is the real, and which is the costume. Like, for example,
Sunday: Is this a vampire dressed up as The Cheddar Avenger, or CA dressed up as a vampire? Either is appropriate for Halloween, though.
Monday: Less so with a this ghost/Crimbo Hero combo. The Ghost Skin 2k10 is a pretty good item, though, but I don’t like the eyes or mouth on it, so I subbed in Carol of ol’ Ebeneezer (warlock’s eyes) and Trick or Treat Tote (happy grin).
Tuesday: Now Gummy as a zombie (or vice versa) has a long-held history, including a role-playing game back in who-knows when. Though it’s never been fully written out anywhere, Gummy was at one point zombified by the federal government for the purpose of making him into a federal agent. The zombie skin, btw, is Easter 2k10 Gambino Egg (gift).
Wednesday: Demon!Link. No… uh… no particular rationale here, just an avatar I make fairly frequently (Link) combined with a common halloween costume (devil/demon.)
Thursday: The junk food pirate as a skeleton. His hunger stayed with him… into death, and beyond.
Friday: The territory gets a little hazy here. This is a presumably human-type trying to cosplay as The Tengu. *headscratch* The wings are problematic, tho; Forteanagoria (Awkward Devil Wings) are… well, awkward. Not that I have anything better. On the other hand, I don’t know why I picked the Assorted Contact Lens Set (Alien Contact Lens)- Tengu is consistently shown with red eyes.
Saturday: Mummy + Wizard. It works well because there’s some good raggedy blue clothing options. Like the base pose of Evil Ki, or Yuki Otoko (tattered robes)
Week of September 29th, 2013 - Rainbow and Liquid!
Sunday: This first guy has a whole lot of Beard items; Beard Science, Questionable Beards, and two copies of Dappy Dandy, each providing some hairiness, while HfP:C (Cicero’s Discipline) kinda cuts back on the hairiness. The legs are from Briar Sonnet, which I’m pretty sure I initially picked up for my themed Halloween week.
Liquid of choice: Red Beaker
Monday: HfP:C (CD) a second time (pretty sure it appears in every avatar this week) on top of Scott Pilgrim: Kim Pine (Cute Cut). There’s not much else to say about this avatar, except that he is Not The Cheddar Avenger.
Liquid of choice: Glass of Orange Juice
Tuesday: HfP:C (CD) makes for an interesting result with Head Case, perhaps better known as ‘the DBZ hair item’ The avatar is interesting because he’s bearded, and fierce-looking, but he’s got on a blouse and high heels.
Liquid of choice: Champagne Glass
Wednesday: I end up using this (Lord’s Coat) from Noel’s Gift fairly often despite not really liking it much. HfP:C (CD) again, on the Green Acinonyx (hair) this time.
Liquid of choice: Green Flask.
Thursday: This is a silly wizard-y fellow. Definitely a warm-weather wizard, with his short sleeves and open robe. He’s also using HfP:C (CD), though the effect is minimal. Honestly at this point I was just using it every day for the sake of… using it every day.
Liquid of choice: Teal Test Tube
Friday: HfP:C (CD) has its strongest showing, here trimming down Compass of Seidh (Valkyrie Hair) into rather close-cropped locks. Lacking violet eyes, I gave this avatar purple eye shadow. Once again, purple kinda cops out by wearing a purple vest over a white shirt. *tsk tsk*
Liquid of choice: Halloween 2k12 Kuro Gang Healing Potion
Saturday: The laziest avatar this week. Old Man Thug does all the work, really. Though the Timmy (Teen angst eyes) are a big help. And yes, Hoarfrost Pass: Centurion (Cicero’s Discipline) even makes a showing here.
Liquid of Choice: Meth, but Pt.An.Sa. Embryonic Vial will do.
Week of September 8th, 2013
Sunday: Determined to get some more use out of that Welder’s Mask, (the base pose of Shop Class Savant,) I made this robot. It’s… a robot. I’ve made better. I am particularly displeased with the Easter 2k13 E-Corp Body Armor; the multi-coloredness of it just doesn’t work. This avatar is a waste of the faceless glitch.
Monday: I got a Reverent Cleric from one of the Revolution Dawn/Midnight/Teatime sets, or some such. Didn’t care much for it, but dat (glowing coat) is awfully nice. Nothing much hard to recognize about the guy; he’s also got Cavalier Corsair (hair).
Tuesday: A bunch of kinda boring ideas so far this week. Here’s a cheapo cyber-pirate. Like Sunday’s avatar, he’s using Anima Adamantia, and he’s got a sword from Ghostly Buccaneer. Oh, and his eyes are from Bit of Armor. …and I think he has, like… an Onyx Eyepatch or something.
Wednesday: Now *here* is an avatar. Permafrost (Belted Loincloth,) Snow Witch (Sorceress Gloves,) The Ice King (Pointy Nose,) Frostbite Blade (aura,) Yuki Otoko (Frostbitten Limbs,) Elemental Hair (Essence of Ice,) and Oculus Mythica (Empty Eyes.) ICEFROSTSNOWICEFROSTICE
Thursday: Oh, Thursday was exciting. A new CI had come out, and it had FOUR new items with beards. I’m too lazy to type out the full names, but they’re all ____ _____ of Stormforge. Oddly enough, though, the first two appearance of of Stormforge items are the (no beard) variants. Such as this second-rate boxer.
Friday: Oh, tengu, linger not with hobbits.*
Saturday: Punk rock guy. Another ___ ___ of Stormforge (no beard), with as many punk accoutrements as I could find.
Week of August 4th, 2013
Sunday: There was no way I was going to have time for an avatar on Sunday. First Sunday in August? That’s BREAD-BAKIN’ day. I don’t think I even saw my computer.
Monday: Even the day after I barely had any time for anything. This is a minimalist self-portrait I had sitting around.
Tuesday: Sea captain made out of… well, the Seafarer’s Shirt, Slacks, Shoes, and Cap. Throw on Henry Hatsworth’s Gray Mustache, the Pale Gray Dracula Wig, and Ship Interiors, and you have about the blandest avatar imaginable.
Wednesday's avatar is even disgusted with you, Tuesday. Well, no, he's just got the (Stieg's Expression) off of Hoarfrost Pass: Northman buried under that Gray Mustache. It’s also under the beard from Royal Wizard, which is trimmed with Hoarfrost Pass: Centurion (Cicero’s Discipline). I won’t explain the robes or hat, but the shoes are Antique Shop (The Boy’s Shoes) and he’s wearing Maroon Froufrou Leggings.
Thursday: Generic Orange spaceman. Although I had to look up the source of that footwear: Turns out it’s the Wayward Trailblazer (Guarded Boots.) Uh, the visor is from Spacefleet Tech and the energy wings are from Anima Adamantea.
Oh, right, Friday: This is the avatar I made in response to Thursday- (see, purple shirts mean “this happened on Thursday”) aka, the day I went to work mad and almost got myself fired. The less said about this, the better.
Saturday: Shark fun! The only trickery here is the facial expression: Hfp: Northman again, this time with (Stieg’s Blood Rage), and Trick or Treat Tote on top of *that* with (happy grin) to make the expression unsettlingly cheery. Shark-y bits can be found in Summer of the Shark (‘ELLO THERE), Head Case (Shark Fin on my Head), and Yemaya’s Pearl (dolphin tail)
Week of July 7th, 2013 - I cut my hair
Sunday: I was trying for a green-on-black theme for a superhero. And… screwed it up.
Monday: I needed a lot of coffee to deal with having short hair for the first time in ten years. And the shortest my hair ever had been.
Tuesday: The Cheddar Avenger doesn’t look too weird with short hair. (Nevertheless, I gave him a handful of cheese, so the avatar is different.)
Wednesday: Neither does Gummy. Good, good. (Nevertheless, he gets a shovel and a hole, for difference’s sake.)
Thursday: Desperately searching for something to post, I came upon this in my “forgotten ideas” folder. I probably should have saved it for December.
Friday: …Tengu, whose hand is that? I mean, I recognize the paws from before, but…
Saturday: The item that makes up most of this outfit is The News For Cats, (Mr. Wooby), and the outfit is meant to be a reveling german man. Hence the beer.
Week of June 30th, 2013 Damn, no over-arching theme. I’ll have to deal with these avatars individually.
Monday suggests a lot of coffee consumed: perhaps a shift change at work?
Tuesday: I know that I had a special lady present on this day, because i built an avatar around and based on her. It… doesn’t look much like her.
Wednesday: Of the four Luchador’s Curse items, the Sky Blue shows off the mustache attached the best, and that’s the only reason I *got* the damn thing…
Thursday: Two, TWO pith helmet items. (wayward trailblazer) Still no pickaxe in sight.
Friday: A remake of Crono, now *very* accurate to the original art/sprite. Courtesy of Bit of Armor…
Saturday: A fix-up of this Monday. Now the Cavalier and Colbert are making out behind a barrel.
Week of June 23rd, 2013 - Things You See at the Circus
Sunday: Shadow Puppets!
Tuesday: Bearded ladies!
Thursday: Pickle onna stick!
Friday should have been a lion.
Saturday: THE RINGMASTER
Sunday is kinda interesting because it’s just two pieces: Reve Rouille's (shadow puppet) and Dramatic Noire.
Thursday cracks me up, and should crack you up, too.
Week of April 14th, 2013 - Faceless O’Clock
Every avatar this weeks uses the Faceless Glitch or the Truly Faceless Glitch- the one with Lumiere Noire. There’s not a whole lot else to it.
Sunday: Spicy DJ (Crank that Sound), Big Bad Bossu (Legs).
Monday: Old Nikolas (Armored Great Coat) and (Birch-Grown Spear), Beard Science (Fireproof Slacks), War of the Warlords (Vlad’s Cap), and some white gloves. Old Nikolas’s coat doesn’t do a very good job of hiding the wings from Lumiere Noire.
Tuesday: The Case of Pietro (the wreck), Mystery of the Stolen Sapphires (Countess’s Dress), Dander (Duster), White Traveller Undershirt, and some white gloves. The Dander Duster, by contrast, hides the wings excellently.
Wednesday: Death’s Whisper (Consume), Dutiful Butler’s Black Coat, Dancer’s Bottom, and Black Sweetheart Silk Top Hat. This avatar only uses the regular faceless glitch.
Thursday: Big Bad Bossu Default pose, (Legs) and (Hair).
Friday: enitrely too many items went into this. The core includes Yama no Tamago (ao no tengutsuki), DandiDooDad Spore (Symbiont Phase III), Mizuchi’s Jewel (Enko’s Cucumber), and Kelp O’ The Loch (weedhair); after that, you simply throw whatever green and planty outfit parts you have at it. (Again, regular faceless glitch only)
Saturday: Lovely Genie (vest, pants, slippers, lamp), Djinn Baharat default pose, Dandy’s Reprise default pose, Forteanagoria (eyes of the Mothman)
